  • Number of Vacancies: 01
  • Work Location: Office of PTSC Operation and Construction Company (POS), PTSC Downstream Port, 65A 30/4 Street, Rach Dua Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

 

1. JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Workshop Capability Establishment and Development
  • Assess rotating equipment service capability requirements and define workshop processes and functional areas.
  • Prepare and review lists of machinery, equipment, special-purpose tools, inspection and testing equipment.
  • Develop and review equipment specifications and data sheets.
  • Evaluate equipment capacity, accuracy, operating range, maintainability, safety, and suitability.
  • Participate in the technical evaluation of bidding documents and clarification with suppliers.
  • Review workshop layout, workflow, staging areas, and heavy lifting requirements.
  • Participate in Design Reviews, FAT, SAT, installation, commissioning, and acceptance of machinery and equipment.
  • Support the development of operating procedures and preventive maintenance plans for workshop equipment.
  • Develop a library of repair procedures, ITPs, check sheets, job cards, acceptance criteria, and reporting forms.
  • Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to company personnel.
  • Maintenance & Repair Service Operations
  • Lead incoming inspection, dismantling, cleaning, dimensional inspection, and condition assessment of rotating equipment.
  • Direct inspection of shafts, rotors, bearings, seals, couplings, casings, and pump impellers.
  • Supervise run-out measurements and verify clearances, tolerances, fits, and shaft/coupling alignment.
  • Develop, review, and improve repair and overhaul procedures.
  • Define inspection points, hold points, acceptance criteria, and repair limits based on OEM documentation and technical records.
  • Determine appropriate repair, refurbishment, replacement, or fabrication methods.
  • Supervise static and dynamic balancing of rotors.
  • Conduct or support condition assessment, failure analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Recommend corrective actions and solutions to improve equipment reliability.
  • Coordinate with precision machining, reverse engineering, surface restoration, NDT, inspection, and performance testing workshops.
  • Control the quality of repair, assembly, and final testing.
  • Review and approve technical and repair documentation within the assigned scope.
  • Ensure compliance with customer and OEM requirements, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

 

2. REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 07 years of experience, with candidates having 10+ years of experience preferred, in rotating equipment maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
  • Experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, power, marine, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Experience in workshop overhaul of at least 02 equipment groups, including turbines, compressors, centrifugal pumps, and diesel engines.
  • Experience in establishing, developing, or upgrading rotating equipment repair workshops.
  • Experience in machinery and equipment selection, technical specification development, and workshop layout design.
  • Experience in developing repair procedures, inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and directing repair teams.
  • Candidates with experience working for OEMs or authorized service centers for turbines, compressors, or pumps are preferred.
  • Candidates with experience serving offshore oil & gas customers and working with inspection/witness requirements from classification societies or customers are preferred.

 

Technical Competencies

Candidates should have a strong understanding of:

  • Rotating equipment maintenance, repair, and overhaul processes.
  • Turbines, compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, and diesel engines.
  • Tolerances, clearances, fits, and shaft/coupling alignment.
  • Laser alignment and run-out measurement.
  • Static and dynamic balancing and balancing quality requirements in accordance with ISO 21940.
  • Journal and rolling-element bearings, mechanical seals, lubrication systems, and couplings.
  • Vibration analysis and operating data.
  • OEM documentation, technical drawings, repair limits, and deviation/concession management.
  • Equipment selection and repair workshop layout design.
  • International standards and practices related to rotating equipment repair, including applicable API and ISO standards.
  • QA/QC documentation such as ITPs, check sheets, acceptance criteria, and repair records.
  • HSE requirements for lifting operations and workshop repair activities.

 

Language & IT Skills

  • Fluent spoken and written English – mandatory, for preparing technical reports and working directly with OEMs and customers.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Able to read 2D/3D technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance management systems is preferred.

 

Preferred Certifications

  • ISO 18436 Category II or higher vibration analysis certification.
  • OEM overhaul training certificates for turbines, compressors, or pumps.
  • Training certificates in laser shaft alignment and dynamic balancing in accordance with ISO 21940.

3. OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Employment type: Full-time employee or fixed-term expert contract, depending on the candidate’s profile and agreement with the Company.
  • Willingness to work in an industrial workshop environment involving lifting operations, noise, and industrial hazards.
  • Strict compliance with PPE and HSE requirements.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to work with suppliers, witness FAT, provide training, and support customers.
